Cruising-along Posted April 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2011 We get a huge kick out of watching him on some of the Nat Geo programs. Quite a character.:D
Rare roscoe39 Posted April 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2011 He reminds me of a dodgy used car salesman ..LOL used carpet salesman would be closer to the point! Interestingly he is not popular with the professionals digging in Egypt. He always appears and takes over any dig that will have any publicity attached to it. On a good side however he has increased the visiblity of the country and he is fighting very hard to have stolen antiquities returned to where they belong. Marian Paroo Posted April 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2011 Does Islam have any problems with archeology in general? I know about the horrible destruction of the statues in Afganistan, but destruction of graven images isn't just an Islamic thing. I mean are the concerned about archeology disproving the fact that the world is more than 6000 years old?
