dmwnc1959 Posted February 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Finally got an answer back from Crown and Anchor regarding 'designated' Smoking Areas on the Enchantment of the Seas and thought I would share them as an FYI to anyone booked on her in the future, maybe someone having already been on her can verify this information? I deleted the names to 'protect the innocent'. ;) Enjoy! Dear Mr. (my last name): Thank you for your email. The smoking areas on the Enchantment of the Seas are as follows: - sections of the casino - sections of Secondary Lounge (whatever that is? - outdoors at the Solarium - outdoors at the pool bar - outdoors on the pool deck (starboard side) - Schooner Bar - sections of Viking Crown Lounge - Viking Crown Cigar Club - outdoors Promenade deck (starboard side) - outer decks on the starboard side - stateroom balconies Please note, there are no specific time lines for smoking in the areas listed. hpreece Posted February 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2011 There were set times that smoking was not permitted in the casino. I didn't find the smoke odor to be much of an issue/bother as indicated by several on CC.
patseacruiser Posted February 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Usually on formal night they will prohibit smoking in the casino.
cruisenfever Posted February 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2011 The smoking areas on the Enchantment of the Seas are as follows: - sections of the casino - sections of Secondary Lounge......Boleros on Deck 5 - outdoors at the Solarium - outdoors at the pool bar - outdoors on the pool deck (starboard side) - Schooner Bar - sections of Viking Crown Lounge - Viking Crown Cigar Club - outdoors Promenade deck (starboard side) - outer decks on the starboard side - stateroom balconies There is no smoking in the Casino on formal nights. Smoking in Boleros was limited to evenings only on our 12/27 cruise. But it was quite offensive when we would go and play trivia there in the afternoons. It can be a real problem with smoke making it's way into the Centrum Area from Boleros at times. That was a major complaint on our cruise.

I had read on several reviews expressing the same concerns about the Centrum, as well as a venue with split smoking/no smoking hours and the lingering odor of cigarette smoke. I was surprised that the Solarium (outdoors?) was listed as an authorized smoking venue. I though that was part of the spa?
jimmcc61 Posted February 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2011 We just got back from the Jan 29th cruise and I did not see any smoking in Boleros. The only place we could smoke was on the starboard side of deck 5, the starboard side of the pool deck and the starboard side of the Viking Crown Lounge. The lounge was very nice right after dinner, because the place was empty. We also smoked on the balcony of our stateroom. The casino did have non smoking time which were posted. Hope this helps. Absolutely agree, and having been a smoker the smell is even more offensive to me now.
dixieva Posted February 17, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2011 So where in the smoking policy does it address cigar smoking? I heard that it is not allowed on your balcony- is that true? My BIL enjoys one cigar each day in the late afternoon and he always has in the past smoked it out on his balcony.

My BIL enjoys one cigar each day in the late afternoon and he always has in the past smoked it out on his balcony. I found this on the RCI Website when I did a search of "Cigar Smoking" "Pipe and cigar smoking is only permitted within the Cigar lounge. (If no Cigar lounge exists on a particular ship, there will be a designated area for pipe and cigar smoking)" I would suspect that you would have to check the Cruise Compass to find out the location. I think it depended on who was sitting at the bar, they would take the ashtrays away. Also, against the wall in Boleros which didn't make any sense to me because there is no ventilation over there so no matter where you went in there, you could smell smoke. I am confused about the 'outdoors at the Solarium' listing as given by C&A. I though it was a covered resort style relaxation area that was apart of the Spa? Is smoking allowed under the glass canopy or are they talking about outside of the entire Solarium near the entryway doors that lead from the Solarium to the pool deck areas? Is smoking allowed under the glass canopy or are they talking about outside of the entire Solarium near the entryway doors that lead from the Solarium to the pool deck areas? There was no smoking at all in the entire Solarium area...they must be talking about when you come out of the solarium where the ping pong table is going towards the pool...on the starboard side...you can smoke all the way down to the second pool, then there is no smoking from that point to the windjammer except around the bar.
