There is no wired or wireless in Jewel staterooms.

Jewel has about a half-dozen WiFi hotspots about the ship, so you would have to take the ipad to a hotspot to get internet access. You would also have to purchase an internet package.

Once you get on the ship, you can usually get the list at Guest Services and also where the guest PC's are. These are both on deck 4, near the centrum.

I realize they do not have shipwide wifi on Jewel so I will be limited in reporting for our three cruises this year. Does anyone know what wifi package they offer?

I don't know how current this posting was, but here's some info I found:

Internet charges on Jewel of the Seas whether accessed on the ships workstations or via guests wireless enabled devices are as follows:

A flat rate of $0.65 per minute or pre-paid packages which reduce the per minute fee as follows:

60 minutes = $35 or $0.58 per minute

100 minutes = $55 or $0.55 per minute

150 minutes = $75 or $0.50 per minute

250 minutes = $100 or $0.40 per minute

500 minute = $150 or $0.30 per minute

An Internet Early Bird Special between 7.00am to 9.00am is also available at $0.44 per minute.

I'd be surprised if they are still on the old "per minute" pricing. Explorer still has not gotten pervasive wireless, but has gone to the unlimited plans.

We got off the Jewel on 12/6/14, and the wifi was offered in packages only, with the cheapest being $29.95 for 60 minutes. Most locations in the Centrum area (library, outside the Concierge Lounge, etc.) had good reception. It wasn't, speedy, though.

I think yes, Bob. I had to scroll down to find the 60 minute package that we both got free, and I know there was a $249 package, so I'll assume that was unlimited.

I saw the same thing on the Vision in July and August, too.

We disconnect when on vacation, so I have no feedback on speeds and if you could stream video etc...

We use our free minutes if we needed ( D+ 60 minutes each) typically when in port, it's slow but suits our needs. PC,s were slow but for our needs, good enough.

People have reported on other ships this has been removed, can confirm on Jewel for this sailing as D+ we got 60 minutes to use for duration of cruise.

I don't know specifically about Jewel, but on other ships, the price goes up for longer cruises.
