debt Posted March 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2013 I've been checking out the Sun for a future cruise, but can't seem to find a Blue Lagoon on the Sun. If there is no always open restaurant, where do they keep the chicken wings? I can't cruise unless i'm able to wing out in the wee hours.
bugspost Posted March 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2013 No 24 hour restaurant.............wings are in the sports bar.....happy hour is great too...4-6pm. Casino usually has small buffet anywhere from 11pm-1am.

cruisingtimes Posted March 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Thanks for the reply. Is the sports bar open past 2am usually? The sports bar is open from 5:30PM to 5:30AM. I'm going to miss my "afternoon wings" on my Sun cruise but then again - I just need to pick a new time. Perhaps "pre-sleep wings". :D

Rochesterboatingdotcom Posted March 14, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Nope, unless you count the last 1/2 hour - however, there is popcorn!
punkincc Posted March 14, 2013 #9 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Isn't these a tapas bar somewhere? And pitchers of sangria? Or am I thinking of the POA?
puddles99 Posted March 14, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Isn't these a tapas bar somewhere? And pitchers of sangria? Or am I thinking of the POA? There is a tapas bar - but it was practically empty for our entire cruise last year. You can get pitchers of sangria in the Sports Bar; we did that for several sailaways and took it back to our balcony to enjoy! :D

Just thinking those could be carried out somewhere to enjoy with Happy Hour if no wings available.
rbrugler Posted March 14, 2013 #12 Share Posted March 14, 2013 The tappas bar is on the deck above the sports bar and buffets.
Rochesterboatingdotcom Posted March 14, 2013 #13 Share Posted March 14, 2013 No tapas until after 5, and then there is very little offered. Tiny little plates with tiny little portions. We thought it was a waste, expected something like a real tapas bar, which this is not.

BEACHBARB Posted March 14, 2013 #17 Share Posted March 14, 2013 We were on the 2/6 Sun sailing and sometimes the sports bar was open earlier - I saw people eating wings in the afternoon and shared some wings and chicken fingers with my Nephew one afternoon. And we had the BEST fries there one night (with ranch dressing) - they were so hot and crisp.

We sailed the Sun in November 2012..............we had wings before 5:30pm too....around 4:30pm............so I don't think they adhere to that 5:30pm start time so much............:)

debt Posted March 15, 2013 Author #20 Share Posted March 15, 2013 So there doesn't seem to be a chinese specialty on the Sun either. I can't imagine the Sports Bar has chicken lettuce wraps. Are there chinese options in the buffet?
garageman1 Posted March 17, 2013 #21 Share Posted March 17, 2013 They do have chinese selections in the buffet. Also the sports bar does serve food early, they started about 4:30 on our cruise last November.
Rare Clay Clayton Posted March 17, 2013 #22 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Sad too, because it is such a pretty little space. More sad because it used to have delicious snacks, different ones each night..the marinated cheese was really tasty. We loved getting a platter full and joining friends on the upper level of The Great Outdoors for pre dinner cocktails.
