Southbound Alaska cruise. Took port side room. Did I make a mistake ?

I have booked a southbound Alaska cruise from Seward to Vancouver. From all the research I did on this board it seems like port side was the side to be. Now I'm reading that I should have taken starboard side. Did I make a mistake ?

You did fine! Port is a great side for going south. Just did it myself a few weeks ago. Rest easy!

Heavens no! There is no such thing as a bad side! If you aren't looking at the coastline (and in many cases, both sides are looking at the coastline) then you are spotting whales. In the different Glacier Bay areas, the boat does a complete turn. There simply isn't a bad side in Alaska! Enjoy!:)

Port side is perfect fine.

It doesn't matter. In Alaska the beautiful scenery is all around you. If you want to see more than the view from your balcony, you can go to one of the outside decks on the ship.

It really doesn't matter.

To me your best views are by going onto the open deck so you can quickly get to all four sides of the ship.
