MCO to Port Canaveral

Looking for some guidance on reliable providers for transportation from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral - four passengers in total. Our trip is in Oct on the Freedom of the Seas.

If it influences the decision, we are planning to arrive the night before and are flexible in staying either in Orlando or heading straight to the port area.

Thanks!

There are several different shuttle providers. Most have been reviewed somewhere on this board or on TA. One that gets good spin and SIL has used in the past is Travelynx. Their website: http://www.travelynxusa.com/ For information, prices, reservations. But there are others.

It's up to you whether or not you stay in Orlando or PC the night before. Many cruisers opt to head for the port or Cocoa Beach, where there are hotels that have shuttles to the port in the morning.

Don't fail to look at the cost of a car rental for a day. It may be cheaper and gives you some flexibility. The drive from MCO to the port is straight forward and fairly easy. Car rental agencies in Florida do not charge for one way drop off and all agencies in Port Canaveral will shuttle you to the cruise terminal once you turn in your car.

Don't forget about the return when booking either.

We prefer to stay in the Orlando area - 1000's of hotels to choose from - and drive over the morning of the cruise. With 4 travelling together a one-way rental is almost certainly cheaper than shuttle fare for 4 and gives you the flex to dine/shop/stay where you want.

Post cruise, unless you have a late afternoon or later flight I would not bother with the car rental - you don't have time to mess with picking up the car, gassing up close to MCO, etc.
