Michelle, did you end up taking the bus to Mambo beach? Was wondering how easy it was and if there was good snorkeling there:)?

Easy to take public transportation on the island. Mambo beach is not a good snorkeling spot, since it's man made beach.

If you are up for a bit of a walk, you can take that same bus to Caracasbai and walk around a mile to Tugboat. You get off at the roundabout--tell the driver where you are trying to go. You just walk along the water past the fort--also worth a look--until you come to a little dive shop/bar. If it is open they will give you directions, but we had no trouble finding it and it is an easy swim.

The only issue we had with the bus was that it was rather late leaving town. On the way back we ended up taking one of the vans that locals ride--a much more roundabout way. Traffic was pretty bad coming back into town so leave plenty of time to return from wherever you end up.
