WeeCountyMan Posted July 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2014 I booked "Ancient Wonders" online yesterday and paid the smaller of the two deposit options. Within a couple of hours I got a reminder that the balance was due now - although the earlier downloaded confirmation stated 28th July. The number to call was listed as an 0871 - 10p a minute. I object in principle to paying Thomsons (or anybody else for that matter) a telephone call fee so I Googled and came up with this link - http://www.thomson.co.uk/editorial/faqs/payment/paying-off-the-balance.html A regular landline number for cruise customers, without call fees........ so I 'phoned and settled the balance. The same number can be used for booking a cabin etc. How long before Thomsons spot this "loophole" and remove it ?

maggie 57 Posted July 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Thank you thats really helpful. I need to pay a balance soon and also really object to extra call costs. Just realised I can ring my bank with an 01 number by using the call from abroad number by replacing +44 with 0 Maggie :)
Diesel55 Posted July 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Any Thomson booking can be paid in any Thomson travel shop so you can avoid the call charges, just take your paper work with your booking number. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
