Options instead of taxis

Is there any other way to get to Mahahual than taking a cab? I was wondering if there are scooter, cart or bike rentals at the port. We don't want to do an excursion but want to get away from the cruise port and find a good place to eat.

There's a bus instead of taxis, but you'll need a taxi coming back. You can walk. There is a golf cart rental (you may need to reserve in advance) but you're somewhat limited in where you can go. I think the website is ****************** ( dot) com. But I believe they are outside the port area in the renamed Nuevo Mahahual where the Tequila Museum and the Pharamica are. There are jeep and car rentals available too. From what I've observed int he past, bike rentals are utypically associated with some organized tour.

But taxis are very cheap $5 pp round trip.

There are restaurants in Majahaul so you could have lunch at one of them.
