We are wanting to do a cruise which takes in the port of Haifa. Can someone one direct me to a specific cruise line company. There are so many of them. We would probably like to depart from Europe somewhere. Thanks in advance. (no kids just seniors):)

We sailed to Haifa some years ago on HAL. We embarked in Pireaus and disembarked in Civitavecchia for Rome.

It was a wonderful cruise.

Here's the schedule for cruise ships making calls to Port of Haifa:

Looks like there are more European and/or luxury cruise lines that go there through the better part of the year (MSC, Thomson, Aida, Regent, Seabourn, Oceania). Then around October-November (and then again in the spring), you get itineraries from U.S.-based lines (RCCL, X, Azamara and HAL). Really looks like quite a few choices, it's up to your budget and whether you have any other preferences as far as cruiselines go.

If that is your primary destination...take a land-based vacation there. Cruises do NOT guarantee that you'll go to all of the places they state you might visit....read the Cruise Contract....they guarantee NOTHING...

You cruise for the ship and sea..not the ports.

We have done many cruises with a stops in Haifa, one of our favorite ports have friends and family in the area.

In terms of cruise lines: Princess, HAL, Cunard, Crystal, Celebrity, NCL. Generally we have gone out of Rome either RT or returned to Athens. More often Rome then Athens.

Most cruises have two ports of call in Israel, Haifa and Ashdod. Sometimes you can find a multi day stop in Haifa. Not that often though.

We have also visited Israel and stayed in Haifa for a time. We actually are planning to do so next spring.

We stay at the Crown Plaza or Dan Carmel hotels on top of Mt Carmel with a wonderful view of Haifa Bay.

If you have questions - if I can will gladly do so. There is also on the port boards a person who lives in Israel who answer questions.

We love to go in the spring or fall vs summer -- lot cooler.
