Bacalar Lagoon

Has anyone found a tour that only goes to Bacalar Lagoon? The only one I have found also goes to the ruins first.

Or, has anyone found a driver they can recommend who will take you there and maybe make a few stops on the way?

I am surprised the cruise lines do not offer any tours to this beautiful place.

Look at renting a car (there's a place "Bazar Costa Maya" in the cruise port that rents jeeps) or negotiating with a taxi driver. It is a bit of a haul (around 3 hours RT from port) and while beautiful to see not a lot of options once you're there. There's a resort on the western side off Hwy 307, but not sure if they do day passes.

The reason ruins are included in some tours is that they're the only other thing out that way to see.

I have a tour booked with the native choice in Costa maya that only goes to the bacalar lagoon. I have toured with this company before and they were very good. The tour does not show up on the main page, but if you click on the excursions tab at the top ... It is the blue lagoon tour.
