We'll soon be doing the 8-day Southern Carib. itinerary on the Breeze. We'll be in Curacao from 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Aside from going to a bar or casino in the evening, is there anything else worth staying in town for? Are there any ship board activities going on while the ship is in port?

We did this same itinerary and had the same time in port in Curacao. We took the east side tour through Irie Tours and were back with lots of time to spare. It was really nice to walk through the town and across the swinging bridge as the sun was setting and all the lights were twinkling. The ship is all lit up as well, so provides for great picture opportunities from land.

We were back on board by around 8 I think and had dinner in the Red Frog Pub and there was a show that night, so there was definitely still stuff going on on the ship.

Not really a ton of stuff to do right near the port after sunset but I think they light up the little floating bridge in town up at sunset which is supposed to be cool. They have the resort in the area where you pass through to get back to the ship and there are some nice bars, restaurants and shops there open late. I was off the ship most of the day in Curacao so I can't say what type of activities they have on there during the day but probably the usual stuff. Plenty of affordable excursions to do there so you definitely want to get off the ship there to check stuff out. The sunset behind the ship as seen from the pier right before the dock is a definite can't miss photo op.

Thank-you to Tannison and FlyingCruiserNJ. We've got the three hour tour booked with Irie Tours. We'll probably browse through some shops when we get back from the tour. Just wondering if there's really anything worth staying in town for later in the evening, or if we should just head back to the ship?

We did this exact cruise last July on the Breeze.

We also did the 3 hour Irie Tour right off the ship.

When we got back, we walked around the shops and over the swinging pontoon bridge.

Later, we just went to the RIF Fort, and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Just a huge courtyard with shops and plenty of bars and restaurants.

We had a few drinks, enjoyed some free WIFI, and then it was a quick 5 minute walk back to ship.

Make sure on your walk back, you stop to get some pictures of the ship all lit up at night. It's beautiful.:D:D

Enjoy your cruise.

I did the irie tours bus also when I went last September and it is good, fun and very affordable. Based on reviews from other cruisers on these forums, we went with that instead of an overpriced carnival excursion. We headed back to the ship around 6:30 after stopping at one of the restaurants in the resort courtyard for drinks after getting done with the tour at about 5pm. That area is pretty lively all the time because of the hotel resort attached to it but after we left I don't know how many people from the ship hung out for dinnertime activities there. Definitely catch the sunset and the ship all lit up before you go back onboard though as it is amazing. I am guessing not many people stay late in town based on how few people were showing up near the gangway at near sail time but I'm not totally sure. As others have said, the area around the pontoon bridge looks like it could have nightlife but it's far from the ship and it would be very hard to walk back on your own. I am sure there is stuff to do if you want to stay off the ship until late though. Also must add that the city and the huge east-west bridge also gets lit up at night and it in itself is neat to look at from the ship after sunset.

There was a drum corps that entertained right outside of the ship the night we were there. They were great! We also just enjoyed hanging out on the rock wall beside the meandering sidewalk between the ship and the Rif Fort after dark. Got some good nighttime pics of the ship!
