Hello, I really need a little assistance with picking a hotel in London. My DW and I are taking a cruise out of Southampton 2Nov 2014, but we are going to spend a few days in London, but where to stay in London is the problem! ( I would like to stay under or around $150.00 a night) So many choices and so many places to see! I think I want to stay on the south bank, please any information on hotel, B&B or homes to rent would be greatly appreciated. Also what is best a bus tour or just walk around? In case you have any questions, yes this is my first visit to the UK, and really looking forward to it.

Thanks again

I d suggest the Premier Inn at County Hall -- a short cab ride on the morning if your departure will get you to Waterloo Station With a direct trIn to Southamoton.

The hotel is just across the river from the Houses of Parliament and also near the Royal Festival Hall.

Plenty of Premier Inns in London, including two on Southbank, one in Southwark and one in London bridge which are cheaper than County Hall, but just as close to waterloo. They are basic, but comfortable.

The trick with them is to book as soon as possible, then $100 a night is possible.
