Cayman Bus Service

Please excuse the ignorance of this question, but I've lived my whole life in an area that doesn't have bus service so I have very little (if any) knowledge of how public transportation works.

We'd like to spend the day at Royal Palms. I know cabs are available, but read that the bus is a less expensive option. I'm pretty sure (:o)that we could find a bus stop but this brings up the questions.....

1. How do you know which bus to take??

2. Since the buses make scheduled stops, how do you know where to get off??

Can we just tell the driver where we want to go and then they will tell us our stop??

3. For those of you that have taken this trip, how long does it take? Want to make sure we allow enough time to get back to the ship.
