Already married on a cruise? Please help

If you have already gotten married on a cruise, I could really use your help. My daughter is getting married while in the port of St. Thomas. We are using the wedding planner through Carnival Cruise Lines. I can't get a straight answer if she can bring her bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets back on board after the wedding. The wedding planner Carnival uses in St. Thomas said that she has never had a bride come back and tell her she couldn't get the bouquet back on board. But the ship's policy is no flowers back on board in a port. I would hate to pay $70 a bridesmaid bouquet to only use them while in port. But I also don't like the look of silk flowers. Were you able to get your bouquet back on board?

You may be able to take them back onboard, but you might want to be prepared to dispose of them upon arrival back to the US. There are large signs in most debarkation ports outlining what you cannot bring back into the US. Nuts, flowers, and animals are the big ones. On one of our cruises to Canada, flower stems were freely given at one of the ports as a welcome gesture and it was announced during the debark talk that they had to be tossed.

When we got married, we went with real touch silk flowers to avoid any issues with USDA.

There are really great permanent flowers out there now. So realistic that DD and her bridesmaids and to argue with DHS agent in Bayonne that tried to prevent bringing the bouquets home. Plus you get what you want, so of the supplied ones aren't very nice.
