streetcar to terminal in N.O. from Riverside Hotel

Last time we stayed in N.O. I believe the streetcar went directly to the port, but can't remember which street it stopped at for Carnival.....was it the Julia St. stop ?

Yes, it is the Julia Street stop for Carnival and RCCL, the last stop on the Riverside line, a reasonable walk from your hotel if you choose to not take the streetcar.

I was thinking it was 5-6 blocks and kind of uphill.....might not be easy with luggage.

Does the street car still go to the terminal? We are leaving out on a Sunday? We heard it does not go that far on a Sunday? Any info. would help. We are flying in but with only one bag and want to get canned cokes before boarding the ship.

Same route. The last stop is Julia Street (all cruise lines except Carnival).

Carnival uses the Erato Street terminal. When you get off the streetcar, you have to go up the escalator to the Riverwalk. Cross the Riverwalk to a walkway that leads to the stairs down to the Erato Street terminal.

That's quite a hike with luggage.....guess we will take a cab

Uphill? New Orleans?

New Orleans is probably the flattest city in America. The only uphill spot is if you walk up the levee.

Yep uphill.....last time we tried to walk from the Riverside Hotel to the terminal we ended up on a parking ramp or something just outside the Riverwalk and it was an uphill slope that almost killed us dragging the luggage. won't do that again.

Yeah. If the streetcar is full you will have a hard time getting the luggage on. Your best bet is a taxi, they drop you right of art the porters and no stairs or escalators to worry about.
