Vancouver: Cab OR Canada Line and Cab

we will be flying into YVR on Sunday early afternoon and will need to get from YVR to Robson/Denman.

Vancouver taxi website says $33 to downtown from the airport.

Canada Line would be approx $24 ($12 X 2 passengers) + cab fare from Canada Place to Robson/Denman.

Sounds like a wash to me... So what would you suggest?

PS. We will be taking Canada Line on the way back since we'll be going straight from the ship to the airport.

Aside from the fact your info on transit pricing is very wrong...

Weekends the whole system is 1 zone, base fare $2.75 ($1.75 Seniors). Even with the $5 airport surcharge, that's a max of $15.50 for both of you. Plus, you don't have to go via Canada Place - that's extra walking. The best route to Robson & Denman would be Canada Line to City Centre Station, then transfer to a 005 bus along Robson (Sundays you shouldn't have a problem bringing some luggage on-board with you, no commuters).

If your luggage is extensive then get off a stop earlier, at Yaletown-Roundhouse, as there is a taxi rank right outside. Shouldn't be more than $10 to get to R&D from there.
