cabin in the aft

That isn't a partial view. Those are on Lower Promenade, not Main. We had a midships cabin on Main, and we had a window over the bed. Not a huge window, but bigger than a porthole.

its Holland veendam room 679

My Veendam deck plans shows 679 on Main deck, starboard, DD category, and full view, no obstructions.

We like that location, it's on a mostly dead hallway aft of the elevators, so little foot traffic. There is a door at the aft end of the hallway which goes out onto a small outside deck, so there is easy access to the outside. And that little outside area has a stairway up to the Lower Promenade deck.

The window (roughly 2.5 ft high x 3 ft wide) will be over the head of the bed if you use a queen bed configuration, or between the beds if you use a twin bed configuration.

You will have a good view of the ocean. Enjoy, m--

charlie,

If you're asking to compare 679 with a PO on the Lower Promenade deck, numbers in the 300's to lower 400's, -- the view from 679 will have nothing in the way of your view. Even NON-obstructed LP (D,E,EE) deck windows have the promenade (boardwalk) taking up about a quarter of the view from the bottom, plus the railing, and usually or always something overhead (the roof or a lifeboat). The PO rooms have more stuff in the way -- possible wider supports including the hull coming in from all sides, or equipment, etc. HH Fully Obstructed views have stairs, near-total hull encroachment, etc. All rooms/views on the LP may have people walking by as well!

If you google IMAGES for this phrase: 'cruisedeckplans.com veendam 420' the first three images should be from a NON obstructed aft stateroom (420). As you see if you look out the window from the side (like, if the bed is together as a queen) -- there is an upright pillar support. If this had been dead center, the room might be classed a PO.

None of the above (especially not people!) will be outside the 679 window.
