Medicare Age

Hi folks, if you have Medicare is it enough coverage for cruising while you are on board; or do you suggest buying into Carnival's coverage? Thanks for any advice. Much appreciated.

There is actually a forum on these boards that discusses cruise insurance...cruise discussion topics.

We have Medicare & it does not cover health care outside of the USA . We also have a Medicare Supplement policy that does provide limited coverage of 80% of your medical bill after $250 deductible. So if you had a $5000 bill we would pay $250 deductible + the remaining 20% of hypothetical bill or $1000 for a total of $1250. We are going on a 14 day cruise + 3 day on land & our travel insurance will be about 1/2 of that for both of us.

I do not know what the cruise ship insurance covers but I would read it & also check on Medicare.gov website for travel coverage info.
