Dear amazinglife,

Charleston, S.C. is a gret place.

My eldest nephew attends the "West Point ( USMA) of the South " Citadel in Charleston, S.C.

Many things always to do in that wonderful city.

But S.Carolina is a ways South of New England.

The Roll Calls as well should have your ships mates giving ideas.

The Chamber, Bus Development, Tourism etc.. has wonderful ideas and places of interests for you to research.

I think the Islands in Bermuda are only a wee bit away too for a side trip if your staying in Charleston, S.C.

Not much info on the boards on this port. Any suggestions?

Sorry you have not gotten any responses yet.

But still Charleston is NOT Part of New England ever

This is an NEW ENGLAND area THREAD.

What you may be thinking is similar if the QM2 has a Port of Call Stop in Estonia and comes to Canada, then USA Boston, MA does not mean Estonia will be shown in the New England THREAD.

Charleston , South Carolina has Fort Sumter too.

But what you want to see you should research o your own too.

Does your Travel Agent/Agency give you advice?

LOL, I first thought the OP meant "Charlestown" which is part of Boston, well not technically but it is). Home of the Boston Navy Yard and the USS Constitution aka old Ironsides. But after seeing they are on a repositioning cruise leaving from florida now it make sense.

Charleston is a great city, lots of old houses right on the water, lots of great restaurants. Not sure which "Port of Call" might have info on it though. Use the search feature.

I get that Charleston is not part of New England (I am from CT), but since you asked...

You can walk the streets of the market area. Eat at Jestines. Go down to the Battery. Occasionally, folks will open their homes for tours, for a fee. Watch the women weave on the street corners. Walk across the Cooper River Bridge. Rent a car and go out to the Isle of the Palms.

There is a lot that you can do. Enjoy your day!:)
