treehugr Posted October 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Going on the Splendor in a few weeks and trying to figure out the best economical means for family to get a hold of us in the event of an emergency. Obviously for us email is the choice on the ship and cell service on the islands. Our biggest concern obviously is on sea days and if family needs to reach us. Been reading many high priced nightmare stories of folks trying to reach loved ones through shore to ship calls with varying degrees of success. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. gtaylor Posted October 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2014 From the US, call 1-877-CCLSHIP (1-877-225-7447) – $9.50/minute. Have them leave a message and then call them back for $1.99/minute. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Of course they'll need to know your ship/cruise date/possibly cabin, etc. Telephone Communication - Ship-to-Shore Ship-to-Shore Communication For our guest's convenience, the ship's telecommunications network offers direct dialing via satellite from the stateroom telephone. This is available 24 hours a day regardless of the ship's location. This service is closed on the final day of the cruise at 4:00am. The rate is $1.99 per minute, and charges are billed to the guest's on board Sail and Sign Card. Since all communication is via satellite, the charges apply to all calls including calling cards, credit cards, 800 toll-free numbers and collect calls. gary
sail7seas Posted October 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2014 If it is a true emergency, every cabin has a telephone. I would think a true emergency would warrant a brief phone call?
