Looking for a beach hotel in Ft Lauderdale

We stayed in a Hotel several years ago and trying to find it again. It was only 3 floors and was right on the beach, There is a restaurant on the main floor that opens directly onto the beach and is very popular with locals. It was yellow in color and the family owned a larger one next door but sold it . Not much to go on but any help would be great. The food was a little bit of everything so not a specialty restaurant. It very close to where the turtles nested

Sandbar Grille is a great little hidden gem at the Sun Tower Hotel & Suites. Shhh, don't give our locals spot away :)

The larger hotel next door is the Pelican Grand.

Also check out Lauderdale by the Sea, just 1.5 miles north of Sun Tower. Lots of mom and pop motels/hotels directly on the beach, and a dozen restaurants. The newest hotel is Plunge, on the north end of El Mar Drive. They are running a special on Living Social right now through December.

I was going to suggest Sun Tower Stayed there in March before our cruise and it was perfect. All rooms oceanfront, loungers on the beach, restaurant and pool. Perfect.
