Stone Island Beach Break

We are arriving on the NCL Star on December 3rd. I am fairly certain our party wants to do the Stone Island Beach Break with Johanne and Sandra tours. It's only $36 pp and we get open bar, transportaion, food and choice of a couple activities. It looks good. When we arrive at 8, is that ship or Mazatlan time? I can't remember what it used to be. Thanks.

The Good News:

you will be taken by boat and then Mexican shuttle to a beach camp where you will join many of your fellow smiling cruise passengers for a beach day of eat, drink, and be merry within 1/2 mile of the ship. A great easy beach day!

The Bad News: $33pp (for that price, with a large group, you could likely do it yourself... food, drink, and have enough left over to think about a banana boat, horse ride, wave runners, quad, or para sail for a few thrill seekers in your large group)

The water taxi cost is about $3.00 per person round trip to Stone Island and the stand is about three blocks from the cruise terminal. If you don't want to walk up the beach, a guy with benches in a pickup is usually there to transport you for a dollar or two.

We are also on the NCL Star for the same cruise, and we are planning to DIY our way to Stone Island. It definitely seems much more economical and we're not really fans of prepackaged excursions. Can't wait to set sail!! 😃

It is very easy and allows for more freedom as well. It would be great if you could post the current prices for the water taxi when you get back. There is a board on the shack that has the cost in pesos.....
