cruiser77 Posted February 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2014 We will be cruising with our 4 year old girls and would like to know the best beach to spend time on. Any beach with shallow, calm waters in Dominica? Our girls can not swim yet but use 'puddle jumpers'.
roysue Posted February 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Hi cruiser77! Dominica is not much of a beach island. Think of it more of a volcanic island. The beaches tend to be more of a black sand and somewhat rocky. There is Mero Beach, Champagne and some others. I see adults commenting that they got "scraped up" entering the water due to rocks. It looks like Mero would be the best bet but you might want to google it to get some pictures to make a decision. Good luck!
OCruisers Posted February 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Plan something other than going to a beach in Dominica. LuLu ~~~
Jenlwarren Posted April 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Take your kids to emerald pool. My kids loved it. The water is cold at first but you get used to it. There's also trafalgar falls. Climb up past the rocks and let the kids play. Dominica has beautiful water and sea life but the nice beaches are not near the cruise port.
