RV parks near Ft Lauderdale

I've done a search on here and come up empty. We are considering driving our MH from CA to FL.

So far I haven't found much info on any RV parks near the cruise port. We have a Thousand Trails membership, so one of their parks would be our first choice, but open to any other nice parks we could park at for 2 weeks.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What time of year?

From now until after Easter, most RV parks in South Florida will be sold out or close to sold out.

The state parks that have camping are going to be your best bet.

Honestly, I haven't seen a single RV park in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. I would imagine you can head west towards the Everglades and find something.

Also, the keys have some camping but again, it fills up very quickly.

Planning on May 2016

Thanks for the info!

Since you are looking this far out, don't miss Bahia Honda State Park. Spectacular place, best beach in the keys.

It isn't in FLL but it may be the coolest place to camp in Florida.

I agree with BlueHerons, if you make your way to the Keys, definitely do Bahia Honda State Park.

While you are on a cruise, and need to leave your RV somewhere, here are some options in and around Ft. Lauderdale.

For general information go to:

... and here is a couple that I found, also listed on the above site:

Perfect !

Would you happen to know if the state parks have any rv restrictions. Ours is 39'.

Thanks for the info :)

Go to http://floridastateparks.reserveamerica.com/. Start to make a reservation and it will tell you the size acceptable in the available spaces. Select RV sites and enter the state park. On the next screen click on 'RV or Tent' and you'll get the details of all the available spaces.
