Cheese making in Old San Juan

Has anyone done the cheese-making workshop offered by Casa Lila in Old San Juan? It looks like something fun and different to do.

Sigh. I wanted to do it when I was there in Sept, but my friend backed out. I know where the lovely house is, and was so disappointed not to have done the class. May go in Nov and try the class.

I emailed the owner. I'll let you know what I hear back.

Heard from Rosa. She does require a deposit a week before the workshop. Her schedule for when we are in San Juan is still uncertain, so we don't know if we'll be able to do this.

I contacted Rosa about doing the workshop. She needs a minimum of 4 participants to run it. We are only two...sigh. Our roll call is deader than a door nail and it's too close to the time we are leaving to see if we can stir up some interest. Next time...

I found this workshop when I read a review at http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/casa-lila-cheese/. It's a 2 hour workshop and costs $50/person. Rosa sounded like she was willing to customize the workshop a bit.

I was sorry we weren't able to sign up for the workshop, but in the long run it worked out. We were 8 hours late leaving Grand Turk on Tues and missed the port on Weds.

It is only available on weekdays. (Darn, and we will only be there one day -- Saturday.)

Do you know what time she does the cheese making? We are only going to be in port until 2:00 P.M.

I don't know. But Rosa is very responsive to an email and she can tell you her availability for the day you are in port.
