msrinath3 Posted February 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2015 Hi all, We are about to book a cruise to the Bahamas for our wedding at Nassau and we've narrowed it down to either the Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas or the Norwegian Sky. I have reviewed the specs on both of these ships and they really seem quite comparable with the Enchantment maybe having a slight edge. Important factors for us: 1. We will have around 50 guests with us, 80% of us are in our mid 20s with some family sprinkled 2. Doing group activities is big for us, it's important that we can do things together as a wedding party 3. Having numerous options for activities onboard is important for us 4. Food is very important - a big choice is essential to accommodate for my fiance's dietary restrictions (gluten, nuts, soy, corn allergies). 5. Quality of suites and having big blocks available for staterooms RCI Itinerary: Nov 23rd Embark Nov 24th Day at Sea Nov 25th Nassau Nov 26th Coco Cay Nov 27th Debark NCL Itinerary: Nov 23rd Embark Nov 24th Grand Bahamas Nov 25th Nassau Nov 26th Great Stirrup Cay Nov 27th Debark Thanks for your help guys. Cheers, Madhav
pls5286 Posted February 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2015 I chose the Sky for my honeymoon. Reason being that NCL offers the UBP free if you book Oceanview or higher. It was about $100 cheaper for the room, so an overall saving for us of $500.
Rare Essiesmom Posted February 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) I have not sailed either, but I have read here on CC that suite perks are the best on NCL. I suggest that you ask this on both the NCL forum and Royal Caribbean forum here at CC. Of course, the answers you get on those boards will reflect bias for those lines, but it will give you more of an idea of what the ships offer. This board is all about what type of cabin to choose, and does not get as much traffic as the other boards. There is also a forum here for Wedding and Honeymoon Cruises, under Special Interest Cruising. EM Edited February 26, 2015 by Essiesmom
msrinath3 Posted February 26, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks guys, appreciate it. I wasn't aware of the UBP perk of NCL so that's nice to know.
