QE2-2004 .... GBP or USD?

First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a great Easter weekend. Hope you and yours are enjoying your holiday.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed the info

in the Voyage Info book regarding the currency

used on the QE2. This is for the upcoming EB

crossing, and my book states .....

"The official currency used aboard QE2 is in US dollars.."

I thought starting this year, the onboard currency would be GB pounds. Could this be a typo, or perhaps pounds won't be used until the

1st series of European cruises?

Anyone else catch this in that book?

Hi Vic,

Originally after the QE2 completed her WC she was going to switch to GBP. That has chnaged. The currency on her will remain in USD to be consistent with the QM. The Caronia is in GBP and will stay that until she leaves the fleet (how sad) this fall.

When are you sailing?

Bon voyage

Hi cruisr

Thanks for your input! icon_biggrin.gif

I'm going on the QE2 25April crossing, and it's getting VERY CLOSE!

I'm not ready! LOL

Just spoke with my PCC at Cunard, and he verified that USD will be the official currency. As to GBP, it won't be til after the refit, and the European programme.

I'll catch you later

HI,

Actually, if the PCC said the currency will be GBP after the refit, that is incorrect. After the refit it will still be USD on the ship. It was going to be GBP after the refit, but now will be USD after the refit.

Bon voyage
