For October pre-cruise stay in FLL, when to shop Priceline?

We are cruising in October out of Fort Lauderdale. Need a one night stay pre-cruise. When is the best time to try a Priceline bid? Soon or wait until later?

October is a slow month compared to Jan-March, there should be bargains available.

October is a crapshoot for us because season starts then because that is when the Canadians come rolling into town. Also the Art Festival on Las Olas is the weekend of October 22nd so we are full blow season for that.

I would go ahead and book now.
