Miami Economy Airport Parking

Has anyone tried parking at the MIA Economy parking lot to go on a 10 day cruise? Would it be safe? If so how did you get to the POM? Did you use a shuttle service, if so what was the price 2 people? Did you use a Taxie, if so what was the price for 2 people? We are sailing on March 17, 2014.

Thank you for your help.

I have not used it but it should be safer than some of the unguarded lots sometimes suggested on these boards. You should be able to ride the parking shuttle to MIA and from there it is a $24+tip flat rate taxi to POM -- same fare will get you back to the airport after your cruise.

Thank you. Is the flat rate taxi fee for 2 people?

It is actually for what you can pile into the cab -- usually 4 plus way too much luggage when I cruise with my wife and two daughters. :o

I'd price things out -- to park at the airport you are looking at whatever they charge you plus r/t taxi fare ($50-60 including tips) plus shuttle rides from your car to MIA and from MIA back to your car; parking at POM is COVERED, convenient and SECURE, but does cost $20/day.

How much are you saving considering the hassel?
