Can Onboard Credit be used for Boutiques and Casino?

I just received an e-mail offer from Silversea announcing a $2,500 per cabin onboard credit offer for certain 2017 cruises. The e-mail said that the credit could be used for private shore excursions, spa treatments, specialty wines and Le Champagne, but made no mention of the casino or the clothing boutiques or jewelry shops. Does anyone know if the casino, boutiques, and shops are normally included? I ask because I have $2,000 in onboard credit for the 7-night Bridgetown cruise on the Spirit beginning December 8 ($1,500 from SS and $500 from my travel agent), and was planning on spending most of it in the various shops. Thanks!

You can also buy bottles from the connoisseur's list with OBC. And, you can even take them with you at the end of the cruise. I always wanted a bottle of Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes, so on one cruise we had leftover OBC and that bottle came home with us, gratis. It's in our wine refrigerator, waiting for a special occasion.

On another cruise, we were spending a few days in Iceland post-cruise, and wine is ghastly expensive there. So we used OBC to buy a few bottles, which we took with us at disembarkation.

So if something on the connoisseur's list strikes your fancy, go for it. Just another way to make OBC work for you... :D

Thanks for all the info and suggestions. We've never had so much OBC to play with, so this should be fun!

That's certainly a huge OBC. Easy to spend though if using SS for tours.

We used ours for a single tour and a bracelet from the shop. As others have said, it can't be used in the Casino.

On our next cruise in March we have a rather more modest $1000 OBC on the Wind. When the Wind returns to Tower Bridge each year, we go aboard for Lunch. We went twice this year. Next year, the Wind is back 5 times, so I'm hoping I can use a chunk of this to prepay the $60 each for a few visits. I know it's policy is use it or lose it, but hoping pre paying counts as spending and will be allowed.

Guess I need to find out before departing - but for me it certainly would be a great way to use the credit. I always do my own thing on tours and I'd only want one visit to La Champagne.
