Rare vacationlover_mn Posted March 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Has anyone done a fishing excursion, through the cruise line, and loved it? If so, which one? I've heard that they are overcrowded and not that fun... Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
wolfie11 Posted March 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Not so in my experience. I love fishing and do it every chance I get. I have been on most of the fishing tours in Ketchikan and went salmon trolling in Juneau. Don't care much for trolling, as I'm a bottom fisherman at heart, but we at least got to watch the whales in Juneau. The tours are doled out to captains with 6-pack licenses which means no more than six passengers on small boats. In Ketchikan, my favorite is the fish and feast where they take you and your catch to a camp on shore and cook it up for you along with sides and a dessert. Nothing better than fresh caught! With other tours you can have your fish filleted, frozen, and shipped home. I have never felt crowded, although you do have to take turns when trolling as not everyone can have a line in the water at once.
