Southampton questions (supermarket, wine)

Hi everyone!

Will be in Southampton overnight and plan to find supermarket to get some bottled water plus some wine.

Staying at the Premier Inn Southampton West Quay close to the port.

Is there a supermarket nearby that also has a selection of wines?

Marks & Spencer is in West Quay Mall, mall entrance right by your hotel. They have a decent selection of mid-priced wines in their grocery section. Open til 8pm during the week.

A wider selection & a little cheaper at Asda (part of the Walmart group) a 5 - 10 minute walk up Portland Terrace from West Quay Mall. Open til 11pm during the week.

Best selection at Majestic Wines, near the rail station and a 10-15 min walk from your hotel, but they have a minimum purchase of six (can be mixed) bottles.

Various convenience stores, but usually a poor selection & poor value.

A few wine-specialist shops, the nearest is a 15-20 min walk in Bedford Place - more for the connoisseur.

There's a new convenience store right beside the Premier Inn West Quay so easy distance especially for large bottles of water

Just to mention, "mid priced" in this context would be 10GBP or less.

We stayed at the same hotel, pre and post cruise. Plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby to get supplies.
