So back in January we got the letter in mail for a free cruise, we booked an 8 day Southern Caribbean out of Fort Lauderdale. Inside cabin total with tips, taxes and port charges $367.

Last week my husband gets a free cruise from our local casino with Norwegin I call we had decided to do a 7 day out of New York to the Bahamas and they tell me it is $350 per person they are charging 185 per person for the cruise, I thought it was suppose to be free really.

I have cruised Carnival all 4 times I have cruised and will never go anywhere else.

Any thoughts????

We just took one of the "free" ncl cruises from the casino. Even though it was not really free it was low cost and we had a great time. We went on the breakaway and the entertainment and food options were great. May have to leave carnival after 13 cruises. We had a great time.

Taxes and port charges are only 135 per person they are adding another 185. Makes no sense, I know how much the port charges were cause I did a mock booking. I am questioning the 185 per person

I received two free cruises this year from land casinos. One is a Carnival (taking in Oct.) & one is a Norwegian (taking in Nov). I too had to pay the $185.00 per person but even with this charge it is still cheaper than paying full price. I am one happy camper :-)

as others have said, you still have to pay the taxes, and possibly prepay the gratuities. I still think that it is an excellent deal. I would love to cruise on NCL. I have heard that they have some really good entertainment. Congratulations on snagging such a great deal:)

Looks to me like most people haven't read the OP comments. They said they $185 was in addition to the $135 in taxes and port charges. $185 is too much per person for tips, so they are charging for something else. Still very reasonable at $320 a person for a 7 day cruise, but as the OP stated, not "free".
