POA - Sail by Kilauea at night?

We sailed on Pride of Aloha 10 years ago and it sailed by Kilauea at night. Is this still part of the itinerary for PO America? We are sailing again June 18, 2016. Thanks!

I can't say whether they are still going south around the island or the northern route, but the volcano has stopped flowing into the ocean a couple years ago, so there is really nothing to see.

Well that's a bummer but it explains the route change. Thanks for the information. I appreciate it.

If for some reason there ends up being am active flow into the ocean they will sail past it, but that's unlikely to change before next month.

Sad to say it's not flowing like it used to years ago. That was some sight to see. Even the vents at the Volcano National Park has less activity now than it did 2 years ago.

At least you can say you saw it in your lifetime. :)
