I'm trying to book mulitycity flights for two with points (Toronto to LA in Dec, with a return from Rio in Jan/15, after the cruise).

Best price today is Air Canada to LA and COPA, from Rio, via Panama City.

Concern is layover of only 1 hour, 11 minutes. Is this sufficient time to change planes at this airport? We've never flown COPA. Any experience flying this airline?

We flew Copa from Chicago to Panama City 2 years ago and we were very impressed. New plane, great service, free liquor (not that liquor matters to us. Price was good and it was a non step flight.

Good to hear that you had a good experience on COPA.

I'm also wondering if anyone has had a layover in Panama City?

The options I'm given are 1.5hr layover or 10.5hr layover, which just seems a little too long.

I flew Copa from Panama City, Panama to Santiago, Chile several years ago. Had flown into Panama City on United (or it was probably still Continental when I did it). The airport isn't all that large, so I'd think that an hour would be OK. Was glad to read that someone had a new plane as when I flew Copa the plane was a well worn 737.
