snownyet Posted April 29, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2010 We just recieved a call from the upsell fairy and moved from a 8E Balcony to an ocean suite on our upcoming Victory cruise. Does anyone have pics of an OS? Also besides VIP check in are there any other onboard perks for suite guests?

Some allow you to also debark early, but that's all the suite perks, that and a larger room with tub and 2 sinks in bathroom.
bmac930 Posted April 30, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2010 Got the same call today also, wanted me to upgrade from 8e balcony on Lido deck to a OS suite on deck 7 on the Destiny. Had to decline for the price they were asking, I told him call me back if you can bring down the price.

The lady that called from Carnival said the room and balcony are bigger. There is VIP boarding, a dressing room, jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, and a frig. She told me the difference in square footage but I can't remember what they were for sure. It was about 30% bigger though. There are pictures posted. Try the search engine. I would look for you but I'm too busy packing!

I'm on the Victory the week after you and have missed calls from Carnival twice - I'm assuming they're calling for an upsell. I'm in an 8E as well - do you mind me asking how much they wanted to upgrade to an ocean suite?

It was just our @$%@ PVP asking us if we had any questions about our upcomming cruise. Were we disappointed. I never use our PVP she does not understand what we want and is not very helpful when we do try to use her. I just call the number and have who ever answers the phone take care of our booking. So I wasn't too happy she was calling and getting our hopes up. Good luck to you.
gjsmth Posted May 3, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Here's a link I found of a OS on the Victory. If the price were right I might think of the switch, but I'd want to make sure the suite was not located by stairs or elevators. We are on the Victory cat 9C balcony in July and would love for you or anyone else with a suite to please report back on their thoughts of the suite and ship. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2954827430039175588OulyvU
wdnoble9999 Posted May 3, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 3, 2010 We were in a CAT OS (cabin 7249) on the Victory in March. Like you, we were very curious as to the layout and had a hard time finding pictures. So, here is a link to a thread on this board that has some pictures and descriptions. Hope this helps satisfy your curiosity. You will absolutely love the extra room and other amenities. Happy sailing...

Off course we could not resist. Heck of a deal, and definitely worth it. Never sure just how the cat OS staterooms differ from ship to ship. Was yours similar in layout to the one on the Victory, or different? Just curious...
wdnoble9999 Posted May 3, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2010 We just recieved a call from the upsell fairy and moved from a 8E Balcony to an ocean suite on our upcoming Victory cruise. Does anyone have pics of an OS? Also besides VIP check in are there any other onboard perks for suite guests? Forgot to comment on the perks... Beyond the nicer/larger room with a small fridge, the only perks you get are VIP boarding and priority debarkation. VIP boarding in San Juan is great. We showed up at around 11:30 or so, flashed our VIP fun pass to the porter who took our luggage, and he directed us up an escalator where we found the VIP lounge. The lounge was staffed with a couple of friendly folks who signed us in and got us our S&S cards. As the ship was not yet ready for boarding, we waited in the lounge which was outfitted with comfortable chairs, sofas, game tables, and a small TV. Quite pleasant. When the ship was ready for boarding, we were escorted on before the rest of the passengers. OK... I know it sounds a bit snobbish, but it was nice... Priority debarkation doesn't do anything more than get you into the first group off of the ship on the Sunday you return. It is nice as you avoid some of the long lines getting through customs, and gives you a bit more lead time for flights and all. As we were spending the night in San Juan and flying back on Monday afternoon, I traded my 'first off' tags for 'last off' tags at the purser's desk. That way we had time for a nice breakfast on board without any early morning rush. Hope this helps...
