Baseball fan Posted June 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2017 Does anyone have a recommendation for a cooking class in Barcelona? We have been there a few times and have done a lot of sightseeing, so looking for something different. Ideas? LindaBabe Posted June 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2017 In 2015 we took an English language cooking class at the main (La Bouqueria) market on La Ramblas. My husband was reluctant and whined for days prior, but I could see he really got into it. Afterwards, I asked him "so, when did you stop being bored?" "When the chef started talking!" It was the highlight of our trip. First after a little introduction, the chef took the group down in the market to buy our lunch ingredients. We learned how to select the best ingredients. Then we went back upstairs and everyone had tasks to do to prepare the lunch. We made gazpacho, Spanish omelet (with potato in it), Paella, and Creme Catalan (including torching the sugar on top). While we were cooking, a server came in and set up a lovely table, which we then filled with our food and ate together. She also cleaned up ALL the mess! Afterward, we had a little restaurant talk, with addresses and what to order. Our recipes were emailed to us. The class cost about ~$80 in Euros. We booked on line well in advance. It was worth EVERY PENNY!

MADflyer Posted July 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2017 No personal experience in Barcelona. I have done longer courses elsewhere in Spain. TripAdvisor does offer a listing in this category, if you have not checked that out already. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g187497-Activities-c41-t203-Barcelona_Catalonia.html
AndrLace Posted August 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 6, 2017 We stayed in Barcelona for 10 days and did a cooking class with Cook and Taste. It was wonderful. Located in the Gothic Quarter area.
