troywest Posted July 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2014 A couple of beverage questions: 1. Are diet tonic and diet caffeine free cola available at any of the bars onboard? 2. Is there a reasonable "upcharge" to add one premium product to one drink, or do I have to buy a "package"?
themoon Posted July 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2014 I can only confirm that diet tonic was available at all the bars. Sorry, but I don't know the answer to your other questions.
TravelBugM Posted July 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2014 We are sailing October on Journey and I sent an email yesterday to Special Needs requesting diet tonic. Perhaps if more do this, diet tonic will become standard, and hopefully plentiful.
Arizonasunshine Posted July 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2014 Diet tonic was available on our recient Journey cruise. My understanding is that if you want a specific drink not on the "free" list you pay for that drink. The prices didn't seem out of line.
Travels with Lisa Posted July 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2014 I've been on both the Quest and the Journey, and never had an issue getting diet tonic. It often takes a while, but worth the wait
Bowie MeMe Posted July 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 20, 2014 What is diet tonic? A Sprite like drink without sugar? Lemonade type drink? I thought tonic was a bubbly water which would not be "diet". Thanks for the information -- I just never heard of diet tonic but I sure have had much trouble trying to get any diet soda type drink other than diet coke which I do not care for in some countries. Being diabetic, most of my drinks need to be sugar free. I also like pink not yellow or blue. (sugar substitute packages) Anybody know about that? I usually bring my own. Travels with Lisa Posted July 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Diet tonic is tonic water without sugar. Sometimes it's hard to get. My husband seems to remember the pink packets but I'm not sure. They are certainly small enough to pack to be on the safe side!
mara01 Posted July 20, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Never had a problem getting Diet Tonic water on either the Journey or Quest. It is usually served from a small bottle. Essential for diabetics who like Gin based drinks! Pass me the Gordons!(or Beefeater!):p
