Here are some grabs from her cams.

In the first one it looks like the ferry is leaving from Bretts Wharf. You can also see the easy walkway from the ship to the ferry.

Nice photos, David.

Live view - Does that mean, if someone was in the Computer Room, you would be able to see them?

Yes. But the cam only refreshes every 3 minutes so there would be a considerable time lag I would imagine.:)

With internet speeds on the ships the way they are, there would be a good chance of spying someone, as they would be there much longer than 3 minutes.

Definitely - that camera feed in the Computer Centre will capture guests and staff who are in the room - this is the room that has shared use Apple MACs available for guests to use to check emails etc

Internet speed on Crystal Symphony varies but isn't too bad for a satellite service. Good enough to update email and slowly browse some internet sites.

One nice thing recently introduced by Crystal for Crystal Society members (those who have completed at least one cruise on Crystal) is 1 hour of "free" internet usage per day. The other thing that reduces the need for internet usage is that there are now a number "as printed" digital editions of newspapers from around the world (incl the Australian and Sydney Morning Herald) downloaded centrally each day and available, together with the ships daily newsletter, Reflections, for guests to download to their own devices. That means you're not waiting on news sites to download and update

Thank you for your response. We would be in there shamelessly waving to family. Great that you found a cruiseline which is a good fit for you. You are a good advertisement for Crystal. As the mass market downgrades their service standards, I think more cruisers will be looking for alternatives. Cruising less often, but enjoying the experience more.
