MaisieMoo123 Posted November 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2014 We have just booked a 2 night mini cruise for next month from Liverpool to Dublin. Can anybody tell me if they have a formal night or are both nights casual? Thanks :)
tring Posted November 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) There has always been a formal night on mini cruises we have been on, even if they are only for two nights. You could ring Fred and ask though - unless anyone else knows another way of finding out. If there is a formal, they are unlikely to tell you ahead of the cruise which night it will be, so check the details of the cruise which will be in your cabin on arrival, as it may be held on the first night. It was on the two nighter we were on a couple of years ago. Edited November 9, 2014 by tring
tring Posted November 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2014 I have jusr received our cruise ticket for a cruise starting on the 2nd Dec by email and it states the number of formal nights at the top RHS of the ticket, so you should get official notice on your ticket. jaceyar Posted November 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2014 We're on that 2 nighter on 12th Dec. Hope there isn't a formal night - don't wish to be ill wearing a posh frock! Irish Sea, December #maybechoppy.
MaisieMoo123 Posted November 19, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted November 19, 2014 Tickets arrived this morning and yes there is 1 formal night. Let's hope the crossing is nice and smooth!
MaisieMoo123 Posted November 26, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted November 26, 2014 Looks like the information printed on the tickets was incorrect. Just received a letter to say that there will now be NO formal night on the 2 nighter.
jaceyar Posted December 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2014 Anyone know if this cruise is still sailing? The Irish sea had 40ft waves last night!
Cruising Nomads Posted December 10, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 10, 2014 Reply to jaceyar. Assume you mean the 12th Dec cruise. Things can change in 2 days. Try calling 01473 746167 for the latest sailing info.

MaisieMoo123 Posted December 12, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted December 12, 2014 Just back from our 2 nighter 10th - 12th December across the Irish Sea. The predicted weather bomb failed to materialise and the crossing was only a little bit choppy, not gale force conditions!

Do men have to wear jackets / ties?
MaisieMoo123 Posted December 12, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted December 12, 2014 The dress code was casual, I wore a cocktail dress one night and trousers and top the 2nd. Hubby wore long trousers and a polo shirt. There were a few men wearing shirts and ties but generally smart casual.
