Laeno Posted May 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2012 So, I know that on Carnival, if you buy one of the classic cocktails (used to be $8.95, not sure if its gone up), you could turn in your receipt for a $5 match play. Assuming they still do this, is there a limit to how many you can use at once? For instance, if I drank a fair number of classic cocktails in the first half of my 7 day cruise in June, could I get like 10 $5 Match Plays and sit down with all of them? Thanks in advance for any answers.

luvs2beachit Posted January 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2013 We are going on the Miracle in two weeks and am interested in learning more about turning in drink receipts for $5.00 play. Could someone provide a bit more detail. Like what is a classic drink? Do you have to buy the drinks in the casino or can the receipts be from other locations? And lastly WHO do you turn the receipts over to in order to get the $5? Thanks.
aggieastrosfan Posted January 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2013 You take the receipts to the cashier, who will give you a $5 match play card. You can only use it once. IIRC, you also have to put down the minimum bet yourself - so if you were to use it at blackjack, you'd still have to put down $6 for a bet, and then add the match play to it, for a one-time bet of $11. If you win, the dealer will give you $11 and then take away the card. Lose, they still take the card. :). You can buy the drink from any bar, it doesn't have to be at the casino bar. dpeprd Posted February 26, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) Does anyone know if the match play works in conjunction with the Cheers program? I would guess no but hopeful anyway. NVM, answered my own question with a simple search. Seems that its a Yes with "Cheers" program but No with "Casino on Us" program. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=37058887 Menu showing some Carnival Signature Cocktails that would qualify as a classic cocktail. http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=813 Edited February 26, 2013 by dpeprd

ahwahoo2006 Posted March 1, 2013 #9 Share Posted March 1, 2013 OR MAYBE NOT :P so many different answers! Seems like it depends on the ship perhaps? I would like to get some clarification from Carnival - I pretty much exclusively drink margaritas, so its great for me. It would make sense that you could since you did "pay" for them, just in advance.
dpeprd Posted March 6, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 6, 2013 Sent: Friday, March 01, 2013 5:28 PM To: Carnival Players Club Feedback Subject: RE: $5 Match Play with Cheers Program When a passenger buys a classic cocktail they may take the receipt to the casino cage for $5 match play. I can't remember if it is a chip or card but it must be used at table games and the player must pay at least an additional $5 to place a bet. Since the cheers program has been rolled out to several ships there are varying reports about the ability to use the $5 match play with receipts from classic cocktails ordered by Cheers Program users. Some have been able to participate in the $5 match play promotion and others have not. Possibly because the receipt says $0.00...but there was a payment made for the program therefore the drinks themselves. Crossing my fingers, Amy Hi Amy, The Cheers Program was rolled out softly, so we never addressed it directly, but a guest who buys a Classic Cocktail on the Cheers Program will be able to redeem for a MatchPlay coupon.
