Thin layers that you can take on, off and are easy to pack i your bag or carry.

It depends how far north or south you're going....you might have to wear a jacket or fleece if a wind gets up, and you may need a mac, but on the whole it will be much warmer than the UK. In the south Med, it will have warmed up after winter by April, though still can get wet or windy.
