NCL Craps Tables - Just off the Getaway

Just returned on Saturday from our first NCL cruise on the Getaway (after 27 on Carnival).

It was really nice that they had two tables. One table was a $5 min and was open every night and most of the casino days. The 2nd table started off at a $10 min, but by the 3rd night was switched to a $5 min (open only at night).

I was very surprised that the dealers were not all that friendly and were definitely not as good as most of the dealers I have seen on Carnival. The pit crew (other than one woman) did not seem as friendly either. We (my brother and I) played every night and every day and it seemed that they never picked up on how we were playing. We were expecting more from a ship that seems to cater to gamblers. This is one of the main reasons we decided to try NCL.

The one difference I could see from our experiences on Carnival was that on Carnival we would be just about the only ones who had a Line of Credit whereas on NCL, there were many players at the Craps tables with an LOC.

Just wanted to find out from others if our NCL experience was the norm or just a one off.

BTW, the tables seemed to be ice cold for most of our sessions :(

How accurate was your play rated? Were they attentive to your buy in's? Or just your pay outs? Any other thoughts?

On the night before the last night, my brother and I checked on our points and we were both around 2800 for the 6 days. However after the last night, I got a "comp" of $28 off my bill and he got a "comp" of $79 off his bill. We were both betting about the same and have no idea how they came up with that number. The tables were pretty busy, but they were definitely keeping track of the buy-ins.

I have found the best dealers for craps are on the Princess. They seem to remember my playing habits by the second night, and remind me if I miss a usual bet.

That is pretty much what we have seen on Carnival in our past experiences. Also, much more friendly crew on Carnival. However, this could just be the crew on this one ship. On Carnival, the Casino hosts always came and introduced themselves to us as well as the Casino Manager who we never saw (if we did, we did not know who they were) the entire trip.

Were his onboard charges higher than yours? Not sure if that is a factor, just curious.

The odds were 3-4-5.

Yeah, NCL always has 3-4-5 times odds. That's the only tables I play on. Fun game.

Figured I would try asking here instead of a new thread:

Does NCL charge for taking cash off your onboard account? Going on Epic in April via a Foxwoods (CT casino) offer, wondering if I should do a line of credit, or if I can take cash at the tables off my onboard account for no fee (I can on RCL, part of the Casino Royale VIP program).

Not sure about every other cruise line (I know Carnival does), but NCL also charges (3%) for cash on your card (unless you are at the top level of their program).

Does NCL allow smoking in their casinos ?

Yes, there was smoking in the casino and at the tables.
