Cuban (wink) Cigars bought In Columbia

Just a warning to anyone purchasing Cuban cigars in Columbia, especially in the old city, they are fakes.

Our taxi driver, we hired for the day at the cruise terminal warned us of the common scams. For 65.00 we had him the entire day. He was so helpful and informative, we also all had lunch together. I can'y wait to go back!

They're fake in most ports in the Caribbean and bordering countries (as well as other parts of the world). With their fake packaging and fake bands, not even an experienced cigar aficionado can always spot them. You need to shop at a very high end tobacco shop to have the best chance of not being swindled ... and those spots are few and far between!

Yes, they are often fakes in most ports.
