Hop On Hop Off Halifax

We are scheduled to be in Halifax in September and were considering an excursion using the Hop On Hop Off (HOHO) buses. From some of the older port reviews and remarks it appears when multiple ships are in port the wait times can be quite long. So, I checked for our date Sept 25th....and discovered 4 ships are in port that day.

Anyone have experience with that many ship in port with passengers trying to use the HOHO buses?.... Should be make other plans?

Unless walking is difficult for you, just plan on walking along the waterfront and possibly up Spring Garden Road to the Public Gardens. You could consider taking a taxi to Citadel Hill if climbing up the steep hill is too much. There is more than enough to see and do in the downtown area of Halifax. You could also take a ferry over to Dartmouth just for fun. There are some decent restaurants close to the ferry in Dartmouth. The Wooden Monkey in Dartmouth in the ferry terminal building has a great view of the harbour and the Halifax waterfront.

Or you could rent a car (likely the same problem with lineups) and go to Peggy's Cove and/or Lunenburg.
