Miami South Beach to Port Everglades Terminal 18

We are travelling on the Oasis of the Seas in a few weeks, leaving from Terminal 18, Port Everglades.

I naively misjudged the distance between Miami and Fort Lauderdale and booked us into stay on Miami South Beach (the Anglers hotel)

A bit of research has led me to discover this would be around $100 in a taxi. I don't mind paying this if this is the only the preferable option, but I just wondered if anyone else had any tips on doing this journey?

And it is it advisable to book a private pickup or can we rely on the hotel to book us a taxi?

The hotel can arrange for a cab, or you might check with Larry's Limos for a private car -- usually the same or less than a taxi and a much nicer ride. I would also call the hotel to see if they can suggest other local transportation providers/options.
