iratherbesailing Posted May 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2015 After taking the shuttle into Bridgetown from the cruise terminal, $1 cost per person, we walked through the downtown area to the ZR bus terminal. These are the little white vans that you pay $1 USD for. They drop you off right at Accra beach and run every minute. Best little fun ride to the beach. Don't worry about the locals, they are the friendliest people and very helpful. Just tell the driver where you want off. After playing in the waves for a couple of hours, we crossed the road to the Quayside Shopping Centre. Great little restaurant called Picasso's served fresh hamburgers, pasta, fish and chips, banks beer and pina coladas. It is an outdoor restaurant sheltered from the sun by big umbrellas. Service was quick, food was delicious and prices very reasonable. Hopped on the dollar bus back into Bridgetown. Best day ever under $50 usd a couple. I stayed in that area 10 years ago, or was it 12? LOL, but I loved it there, great beach. Im sure the restaurants have changed since then, but I do remember the shopping center. I would love to get back to Barbados again on a cruise some day. I will file this info away to hopefully refer to when that day comes.:)

islandatsea Posted January 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2016 Go across the street to the shopping center and eat at Just Grillin...for the best flying fish sandwich! We have been reading the info on the Accra/Boardwalk area and is the taxi from the Port $15 to $20US for 2 people one way. Also does it take 20 minutes by cab to get there ? Sounds like Just Grillin is across the street from the beach area. We have heard a lot about the FF Sandwich and want to try one before going back to the ship. We want to do a little quiet beach time then the FF. Thanks for any info!
