Questions about Nevis

Hi,

Going to St. Kitts in September. Looking to going to Nevis. What ferry do most cruisers go on, and once you get to Nevis what beach do you recommend and how do you get there?

Most people walk over to the passenger ferry terminal in Basseterre, less than a 10 min walk and take the ferry from there. There are several ferries and the departure & return times vary. There are usually taxis waiting at the ferry dock in Nevis for fares. The beaches on the Caribbean side of the island are the best. Pinney's Beach is the closest. The Four Seasons is located on Pinney's. The BIG issue is time. The ferries take 45 min each way & their timing could be more cruiser friendly IMHO.

Maybe, I should just book a tour with a local tour company.

We booked this with our Ship for February, only because of the timing...didn't want to take a chance....otherwise we never book ship tours.
