Please bear with me!! This is the first time we are flying Southwest. We booked a return flight from San Juan and today I noticed the price went down $40. Would I be able to cancel and rebook that flight?? Its already on our credit card!!

Thanks for your response.

There are many comments on this board that Southwest refunds fare drops. You shouldn't have to cancel. But you may get the $$ in a credit you have to use in the next year.

Call Southwest.

You will get the lower price but the difference will be in the form of a credit to be used on Southwest. I think the time frame is 1 year from the date of the original booking, not when you get the credit.

That is one of the benefits of Southwest. Other airlines give you a credit if the price drops, but only after taking out their $200 change fee. Prices rarely drop $200/person so price drops on other airlines are meaningless almost all the time.
